Frequently Asked Questions
What kinds of things does it work on?
Dry ice blasting is the best solution on the market for automotive restoration. Whether it's a classic Porsche or a dedicated track car, dry ice blasting is the best way to clean. It also excels at fire damage and soot removal, mold remediation, asphalt equipment cleaning, historical structures, log cabins, food trucks, power plants, industrial manufacturing facilities, aerospace and much much more!
What does it cost to restore my vehicle?
A small sedan/coupe is typically $2500 for a complete cleaning which includes: the engine bay, complete drivetrain, all suspension components, wheel wells, and the entire under-carriage. If we can see it, we will clean it! Of course, it is possible to only hit key areas for a lower price. We also offer a post track day service which includes: the wheel wells to remove brake dust and tire scuffs, suspension, then a full drivetrain cleaning for around $1500 depending on severity.
Is it safe to use on fragile things?
Dry ice blasting does not use any abrasive media, chemicals, or moisture so it is completely safe to be used in even the most sensitive of scenarios. Fragile historical buildings and artifacts can be cleaned without worry! Dry ice blasting is also non conductive so delicate electronics can also be cleaned!
Where do you service?
We are completely mobile and service the entire great state of Colorado, however we are based out of Northern Colorado Springs.
How far in advance do I need to schedule?
It typically takes about 2 to 4 days to prepare the dry ice pellets needed, depending on the size of the project. For automotive sized projects, 2 days notice is required.
Does it remove paint?
In general, dry ice blasting is not great at removing paint because it does not use abrasive media. It can strip paint in some instances; but things like heavy equipment and auto paint with a clear coat are too well adhered for dry ice to effectively remove. However, it is excellent at removing paint from wood surfaces like log cabins or plywood!
